Purchased by Carleigh as a yearling with the dream of
developing her in the sport of Reined Cowhorse. Izzy successfully completed her Futurity year winning Champion and Reserve Champion at the CCRCHA Snaffle bit shows as well as Reserve Champion overall for the year. She finished out her first show season placing 4th in the L1 Open Alberta Snaffle Bit Futurity with just 8 months under saddle. Carleigh is currently looking forward to Izzy's first Derby season in 2025. Izzy shines both as a show horse and a working horse being a main mount for Carleigh teaching clinics, gathering and sorting cattle on different ranches, ponying colts, and roping. Showcasing her exceptional mind, as a 3 year old, she doubled Carleigh and her young children through several Future Stars classes at the Canadian Snaffle Bit and Alberta Snaffle Bit to give Aurora and Wyatt their first taste of horse showing. In the long term Carleigh plans to add Steer Stopping to Izzy's skillset so she is ready to compete in some of the Canada's Greatest Horseman and Canada's Greatest Cowgirl classes.
Sniper is Carleigh's first colt born on the ranch. He will be competing in Reined Cowhorse Futurities in 2026. He will enjoy his 2 year old year going through all the training Carleigh feels is most important to develop him into both a show and working horse to hopefully make an excellent stallion prospect in a few years when he has proven himself. Sniper is a grandson of Metallic Cat and a son of Red Hott Cat. His dam Bella (Town Lights) is a daughter of Von Starlight boasting lines from Greys Starlight, Von Reminic, and Tivio. As a conformationally correct bay roan with an excellent disposition and work ethic our expectations of Sniper are high. Carleigh is excited to share his journey with you on Facebook and on her YouTube Channel.
Bella is Snipers dam and will enjoy this year being one of Carleigh's main using horses for ranching, clinics, and developing as one of her demo horses. Boasting both Cowhorse and Reining lines this gorgeous and well built mare has work ethic and athletic ability to be one of Carleigh's top working horses and a producer of show horses. Carleigh is excited to share all the adventures she and Bella take part in. Expect to see Bella featured lots this year in many of the clinics, events and ranch work happening. Keep your eyes out for future foals being produced by this mare as well.
Cinder is one of the young horses that will be developing her skills this year to be one of the working ranch horses as well as continuing her education to be available as a lesson horse here at the ranch. Cinder has a basic riding foundation now and will be continuing her education in working bison, cattle, flag, obstacles, and real life ranch work to become the ideal in what we look for in our working horses. This mare has the stamina, athletic ability, and work ethic to make the perfect partner. Cinder loves people and is always one of the ranch favourites with many of our guests and clients that visit the ranch. There is just something about her lovely demeanour that draws people in.
Holly is another of our young horses being developed into a working ranch horse and future lesson horse. Holly has a basic riding foundation now and will be continuing her education in working bison, cattle, flag, obstacles, and real life ranch work to become the ideal in what we look for in our working horses. Holly has a calm, sweet and soft demeanour, she is very kind and enjoys every bit of attention. This mare may be small but she is mighty and packs a lot of power into her movement and athletic ability. It's exciting to see this mare develop and is a fun addition to our ranch.
Chief is one of the first horses that Carleigh trained for cow work. Chief won a lot of money in his prime as a Team Penning and Sorting horse competing and winning money at local, provincial, and national levels as well as the PNE. The last year he competed at Nationals he had the 1st and 2nd fastest times out of 197 teams in Cattle Penning marking times that were around the 20 second mark. Chief has done everything with Carleigh from packing through the backcountry, being a partner in liberty and bridleless riding, trail horse extraordinaire, obstacles, cowboy challenges, ponying and helping train colts, to later teaching her kids to ride. This kind minded and sensitive gelding brought together a wonderful friendship with Sabrina Fedorak who Carleigh now partners with for the fabulous Super Clinics. Chief is always one of our top picks to demo liberty and all levels of ground work. Although Chief no longer works cattle you'll see him playing with the giant horse ball, teaching people about ground and liberty work, and being a kind introduction to riding with connection and feel.
Bugs is a one in a million horse. Also known as the ATM Machine, because you never leave a show without some cash. Boasting countless huge wins at the Calgary Stampede, Nationals, and Provincials he has become well known in the Team Penning and Sorting world. Bugs is one of our many connections to Fast Times Farm. The starting place of Carleigh Jensan Horsemanship and friends who have become family. Bugs has taught countless people of all ages and abilities how to ride. Bugs is now in his late 20's and has become a main mount for our kids Aurora and Wyatt sharing his knowledge of working cattle, bison, flag and more with them. As well as doing a very limited amount of lessons for kids and the occasional small adult rider. We want to make sure he enjoys his golden years at the pace and workload that keeps him happy, healthy and enjoying life. When not teaching the kids how to ride you'll find Bugs enjoying time in his pasture, out on the trails, and being a buddy for any wean-ling to young yearlings here.
Chic is another one of our wonderful horses from Fast Times Farm. Chic has won countless buckles, prizes, and money Team Penning and Sorting at the Calgary Stampede, Nationals, Provincials, and locally with her owner George. She is now Aurora's main mount. With a safe mind but a spicy attitude Chic has been a wonderful step up horse for Aurora to advance her skills with as she learns more about working bison, cattle, the flag, and controlling her own spicy dragon. Aurora has aspirations of learning to compete with Chic. Chic is a forward mover and is available for occasional lessons for more confident riders and enjoys the flag, cattle, and bison.
Butterfly is a ranch favourite! A good minded and kind shetland pony she exhibits none of the naughty behaviors some ponies can often be known for. Butterfly accommodates the smallest to mid sized children as they progress from lead line to riding independently. Being one of my kids horses you know Butterfly also has a solid knowledge of obstacles, being ridden on the trail, working the flag, gathering cattle many times bigger than her, and just being up for whatever is asked of her. Butterfly is safe and gentle with even the littlest of cowboys and cowgirls. Being in her late 20's and being a been there done that kind of gal she is sure to teach in a kind and confidence building manner. It's not unusual to see Butterfly in full braids with her forelock in the style of a unicorn, playing with the giant horseball that is bigger than her, and enjoying living with her friend Chief in the winter or out in the pasture in the summer.
Frodo is a newer addition to the ranch! A Welsh pony from an English background where he has learned to jump small courses Aurora and Carleigh are excited to work together to develop Frodo into a pony that can go Western as easily as English, work cattle, the flag, trail ride, ranch work, and do obstacles. This will be an exciting first project for Aurora to really take the reins with. As Frodo progresses through his training he will be available for kids that are ready to step up from Wee Butterfly to a larger pony. Carleigh looks forward to sharing Frodo's training journey with everyone online.
Teddy is a new addition to the ranch and is available for a limited amount of lessons. Here to teach light adult beginners to intermediate riders we are excited to have Teddy join the team. Now in his late 20's Teddy is ready to do age appropriate work to stay happy, healthy and enjoying his golden years. In his life he has obtained a wide range of skills from jumping and English riding, being a movie horse in films like Planet of the Apes, working bison, to enjoying the trails and cow work, Teddy is a warmblood and is a larger size than our standard Quarter Horses but is as kind as he is large. We look forward to Teddy being a part of the team at Carleigh Jensan Horsemanship.
